How I created my podcast and why I chose to record in a studio

Why start a Podcast?

Launching a podcast is one of the most effective ways to learn from industry peers while creating high-quality content. It allows you to engage with experts, extract valuable insights, and share them with a broader audience. This why I decided to launch Alliances in October 2024.

At that time, the only podcast on the podcast in France was the excellent one from Partnershift - Ecosystem

Why record in a studio?

While audio quality is crucial, video has become an essential part of content consumption. People want to see as well as hear, and video helps to create a stronger connection and build trust with the audience. That’s why I chose to record Alliances at Studio Wacked in Paros, which offers a three-camera setup with 4K quality. This ensures a professional look and feel, making the content more engaging and shareable.

Delegating the editing process

To achieve a polished and dynamic result, I delegate the editing to a freelance recommended by my wife who is a Marketing expert. Professional post-production enhances the viewing and listening experience, ensuring smooth transitions, well-balanced audio, and an engaging pace. Outsourcing this step also allows me to focus on content creation and promotion rather than spending hours on technical adjustments.

Publishing and promoting the Podcast

I handle the distribution and promotion personally, ensuring that each episode is presented in the best possible way. This involves:

  • Crafting compelling titles that capture attention
  • Writing high-quality descriptions that summarize the key takeaways
  • Promoting each episode multiple times to maximize reach and engagement

Each episode is a massive work and time consuming: Around 10 hours of work for:

  • Watching the episode 3 times,
  • Preparing the shorts,
  • Writing qualitative content on the social network

Each episode comes with a cost: Around €600 (Studio, video editing)

Where to distribute the podcast?

The podcast is available in both video and audio formats to reach a wider audience:

  • YouTube for video content, capitalizing on the platform’s massive user base and searchability.
  • Ausha for audio distribution, which ensures the podcast is available on key platforms like Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and Deezer.

The tools behind the podcast

To produce high-quality content, I rely on:

  • Adobe Premiere Pro for professional video editing
  • Handbrake for compressing files efficiently
  • CapCut for creating engaging short-form content

Early results and future goals

After just three episodes, Alliances has achieved:

  • 500 views on YouTube
  • 500 listens across podcast platforms
  • Listeners in 16 countries
  • Two inbound leads generated

While these are modest numbers, the objective is to take the podcast to the next level over the next 18 months, increasing visibility, engagement, and impact.
